Bob Peterson is sworn in as state senator for the 17th Ohio Senate District as his wife, Lisa, looks on. The oath of office was administered by Ohio Supreme Court Justice Sharon Kennedy.
During the Monday opening ceremonies for the 130th General Assembly, Bob Peterson (R- Sabina) was sworn in as the Senator for the 17th Ohio Senate District, which encompasses Fayette, Clinton, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Pike and Ross counties as well as portions of Lawrence, Pickaway and Vinton counties.
Peterson was first appointed to the Ohio Senate in 2012, having previously served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives and as a Fayette County Commissioner.
“Serving in the State Senate is a tremendous opportunity, and I look forward to making sure that the views and opinions of the people of Southern Ohio are heard as we discuss ways to move Ohio forward,” Peterson said.
“While we accomplished much during the past year, we still have a long way to go in transforming Ohio into a more business and job-friendly state, and I will continue to be an advocate for the people of the 17th Senate District.”
Peterson and his wife, Lisa, are the proud parents of Sarah, Hannah and Todd. The eighth generation of Petersons to farm in the U.S, the family lives on their farm in Fayette County – raising corn, soybeans, wheat and livestock.
