SSCC Theatre proudly presents Ken Ludwig’s “Lend Me a Tenor,” playing 7:30 p.m. on April 5 and 6, and 3:30 p.m. on April 7, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on Southern State Community College’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro.

This night in September 1934 is the biggest in the history of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company. World famous tenor Tito Morelli (played by Jeff Horick) is to perform Otello, his greatest role, at the gala season opener. Saunders (Bob Brown), the harried general manager, hopes this will put Cleveland on the cultural map. Morelli is nowhere to be found, but when he finally arrives drunk, it is too late for any rehearsal. Through a hilarious series of mishaps, ‘Il Stupendo’ is given a double dose of tranquilizers. His pulse is so low that Saunders and his assistant Max (Benjamin Gullett) believe he is dead. What to do? Madness ensues as this hilarious farce spins out of control.

“Lend Me a Tenor” also features the talents of: Stormi Bledsoe, Chelsea Heifner, Hannah Hengler, Leslie Holmes, and Mark Holmes. The production is directed by Rainee Angles, stage managed by Sarah Williams, and assistant stage managed by Megan Marvin, with production design by Rainee Angles and Abraham Martin, sound design by Benjamin Gullett, and costume design by Laura Martin. Fulfilling other crew positions are Brent Angles, Daniel Bragdon, Charlotte Brown, Veronica Carpenter, D.J. Griffith, Jenna Horick, Tina Kessinger, Shelby Pittl, Seth Potts, and Heather Washburn.
