Based on Edgar Rice Burrough’s Tarzan of the Apes and the smash-hit 1999 Disney animated film, “Tarzan” tells the story of an infant boy orphaned on the shores of West Africa. Taken in and raised by a tribe of gorillas, Tarzan (played by Luke Carlson) strives for acceptance by his ape father while grappling with his uniqueness. When a human expedition enters their territory, Tarzan – now a man – encounters for the first time strangers like himself, including Jane (played by Jennifer Frost).
Two worlds become one family as this show progresses, full of energy and humor with strong values at its core. Miami Trace is proud to be one of the first high schools in the nation to perform this newly-released musical!
Tickets are also available for a special event, Camp Tarzan, to be held prior to the performance on Saturday, April 27.
The event will begin at 5:30 in the Miami Trace High School gymnasium featuring the Columbus Zoo and a live presentation of their jungle animals. Following the zoo presentation, Camp Tarzan’s jungle-themed activity booths will be open until 7:00 pm for a fun-filled time of games and activities. Camp Tarzan activities are designed for children ages 4-9 years of age.
Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased by calling Mrs. Stanley at 333-4782. Musical tickets are sold separately. Tickets are limited, so call now for tickets to this exciting event.
