Several fire departments battled a dairy farm fire near New Holland on Sunday.
Crews responded to the Mennonite farm in the 7000 block of Route 22 east shortly after 9 a.m. When they arrived on scene flames were shooting from the roof and farmers were trying to save trapped cattle.
Several fire departments were requested for mutual aide.
Firefighters didn’t immediately release the cause of the fire . This is the second time in three years the farm has caught fire. In 2012, crews responded to a fire that killed several farm animals. The cause of that fire was farm machinery.
