There’s a new guy in town. Maple Street Church in Jeffersonville has a new campus pastor.
The “new guy,” Pastor Justin Siler, Washington Court House, stepped into the pulpit in December of 2012, and has plans for the Village to be seeing much more of the small church that has sat silent on a residential side street for many years.
Siler, 32, and his wife Angela, who works for Community Action, have two young daughters, and because of them he often shares a witness of God’s mercy to their once childless family.
“It is this kind of personal testimony, delivered with a light hearted approach that touches the common man (and woman), and digging deep into the teaching of the Bible, which makes this revived ministry in Jeffersonville one that promises to reawaken the community with a new spirit and outreach,” said Siler.
The Ohio Christian University graduate, who also serves as Campus Pastor at Rose Avenue Community Center in Court House and Associate Pastor at Heritage Memorial Church, has already introduced a mix of contemporary with traditional in worship music , and there are plans as attendance grows to expand the ministry to include youth and children’s ministries, Sunday School classes and a Vacation Bible School this summer.
“Our goal is to reach the hearts of the many families without a church home in the Jeffersonville area,” said Siler. “This town has so many who haven’t heard about the love of a God who cares so much for them personally. We really hope to see many new faces here on Easter Sunday (March 31 st) at our 10:00 am Worship Service that is open to the community!”
The pastor and members of Maple Street Church welcome everyone seeking a church home, and warmly invite young and old and “in-betweeners” to come and worship God in the small, but beautiful, little church down the street.
Visitors may find the church a place they want to join in with the new guy and the older members, too, who share the desire for good to come to their home community of Jeffersonville. Adults are welcomed and needed to help serve as teachers, musicians, and in many more roles as the church ministry increases in size and outreach.
