Two fire departments responded to a large barn fire after lightning caught it on fire Tuesday afternoon..
According to Wayne Township Fire Chief Chris Wysong, his department and Concord Fire Department from Ross County, responded to 3042 Good Hope Road — near the Fayette and Ross County Lines — Tuesday evening after a severe thunderstorm produced a lightning that struck a barn and ignited a fire.
The barn immediately went up in flames prompting neighbors to call 911 and to knock on the door of the homeowner alerting them to the blaze.
Crews were able to contain the blaze rather quickly and no injuries were reported.
The barn housed hay, according to Wysong.
