Fair Queen Tori Wilt, center, officially opened the 2013 Fayette County Fair.
The 2013 Fayette County Fair kicked off Sunday afternoon with the crowning of this year’s queen shortly after 2:30 p.m.
The 134th edition of the fair officially got underway with Tori Wilt being crowned the 2013 Jr. Fair Queen. Her attendants were Jennifer Frost and Brooke Mossbarger.
During the opening ceremonies several proclamations were presented to the Fayette Agriculture Society, the Fair Board, and the Jr. Fair Board.
Some of the proclamations were presented by local dignitaries, including Congressman Mike Turner, who was in attendance.
The Jr. Fair Board presented the family of Phyllis Rae with a special award recognizing Rae for her years of dedication to the fair.
Rae was killed in an automobile accident in Wayne Township earlier this year.
The Guys and Gals Lead will be held at 4 p.m. and The Cincinnati Pops are set to take the stage in the McDonald’s Grandstand at 7:30. The price of admission is $5 and includes the entire fair; rides aren’t operational on Sunday.
