A serious crash occurred in Fayette County Tuesday evening that sent three people to the hospital and shut down a highway for several hours.
According to authorities, three vehicles crashed on U.S. 62 north at Washington Waterloo Road at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Two victims were listed in serious condition, while a third remained trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated using the jaws of life.
Two medical helicopters were called to the scene to transport two of the victims to the Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. A third victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
The makes and models of the vehicles involved have not been released. The names of those involved or the events leading up to the accident have not been released.
U.S. 62 was shut down for several hours whiles Sheriff deputies investigated the crash and the crash remains under investigation.
